Per a Twitter remark from St. Louis Magazine’s George Mahe and a blog post by Ian Froeb of The Riverfront Times, it appears that Portabella, located at 15 N. Central Ave., in Clayton has closed (Read our 2010 review of the restaurant here).
A recent post from the St. Louis Business Journal confirmed the closure as well as the sale of the restaurant by Portabella co-owner Angela Del Pietro to Pasta House owners Kim Tucci and Joe Fresta. According to the Business Journal, Tucci and Fresta will be renaming the restaurant Tucci & Fresta’s Trattoria and Bar. The space will reopen in six weeks, upon completion of a $100,000 remodeling project, serving what Tucci said will be Italian fare that’s more upscale than Pasta House. More as we learn it.
