Food truck Smoke N Motion is rolling. The mobile eatery is the most recent development by the same folks behind Que in the Lou BBQ competition team and Gourmet Catering. Steered by chef Mario Mazzola, Smoke N Motion offers a selection of sandwiches, many featuring its smoked meats.

The menu, which changes monthly, is currently a line-up of six sandwiches. The Tuscan is piled with chicken, roasted tomatoes, arugula, mozzarella and pesto on toasted ciabatta. Pulled pork is featured in two different ‘wiches: The Hog (pulled pork, ham, smoked bacon, homemade pineapple sauce and a sweet, mildly spicy house barbecue sauce) and The Sicilian (pork, gorgonzola, prosciutto, arugula, homemade fig jam). Meat-lovers will find smoked brisket on the Smoke N Motion take on a Philly sandwich, as well as on The Frenchman, a hoagie packed with said meat, Gruyere cheese, roasted mushroom, caramelized onions and roasted garlic spread. Smoke N Motion also offers a veggie option. All sandwiches are made using breads from local bakeries Fazio’s or Vitale’s. Side dish options include broccoli rabe and pasta salad.

According to Mazolla, the December menu will be pared down to two sandwich offerings and two soups: beer cheese and Italian wedding. Half-soup, half-sandwich combinations will be available.

Currently, Smoke N Motion keeps its food truck within the borders of St. Louis City. Mazolla anticipates rolling into St. Louis County in early 2014.
