Doors are locked and all’s dark at 903 Pine St. Call the Sweet Basil Thai Café phone number and you’ll get no response. What’s going on?
A call to owner Somying Fox today confirmed that the restaurant has closed, but not for long. Fox, who opened the establishment just this past January and who also operates Basil Spice Thai Cuisine on South Grand Boulevard, stated that the doors will reopen as early as next week. However, don’t expect Thai – or any Asian food for that matter. The new concept for the yet-to-be-named restaurant is fresh American fast food. “It will be burgers, barbecue and buffet,” stated Fox. The restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch daily, except Sundays, and a buffet will be offered during both meal times.
