Partners Dave McDonald, Pascal Beauboeuf and Stephan Beauboeuf recently opened The Haus Pizzeria and Bar in Chesterfield. By day, the restaurant that occupies the old Starbucks space at the corner of Baxter and Clayton roads features pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads. By night, the 65-seat joint with full bar gets hopping with musical entertainment that includes a calendar of live blues, DJs and karaoke.
Since the restaurant’s grand opening late last month, the owners have offered a limited menu, but starting next week, a full lineup will debut. According to Pascal Beauboeuf, thus far two of Haus’ specialty pizzas – Zesto Pesto, featuring pesto, chicken, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and mozzarella, and The Carnivore, a meat-lover’s extravaganza of beef, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage and mozzarella – have gotten rave reviews. Another must-try is the eatery’s oven-baked hot wings. “They are so tender they are falling off the bone,” commented Beauboeuf.
On the drinks side, Beauboeuf stated that his establishment was one of the few in town offering Goose Island’s Matilda Belgian-style pale ale on draft. And cocktail-lovers who follow celeb trends might want to try Jennifer Aniston’s latest fave, Veev, an antioxidant açaí liqueur that The Haus uses for its Antioxidant Martini.
The Haus Pizza and Bar is open daily from 11 a.m. until 1:30 a.m. Look for its Web site, thehausstl.com, to launch by the end of the month.
