As reported Monday by the Belleville News-Democrat, two restaurants look to open in O’Fallon, Ill. Bella Milano, an Italian restaurant with a location in Edwardsville, lll., and one in Springfield, Ill., and The Egg and I, a breakfast and lunch chain that began in the late 1980s in Fort Collins, Colo., both hope to add an address at a small retail strip planned on Regency Park Drive in O’Fallon.
Bella Milano would occupy some 8,000 square feet, while The Egg and I would be approximately 3,000 square feet. A third storefront in the three-store strip does not have an identified tenant, according to O’Fallon city administrator Walter Denton and city planner Ted Shekell. Pending approval by city officials, groundbreaking could occur in September, said Shekell.
