The Scottish Arms in the Central West End Credit: Google Maps

After nearly 20 years operating at 8 S Sarah Street in the Central West End, The Scottish Arms has announced via press release that it has closed for regular business after dinner service yesterday, Sunday, July 28.

Since opening in May 2005, The Scottish Arms was well known for its menu of British comfort food classics like Scotch eggs, fish and chips and Beef Wellington bites. It was a go-to location for whiskey lovers and beloved for its cozy pub atmosphere that always felt unique in the St. Louis dining landscape.

“We were in the process of an ownership change, but it unfortunately fell through at the last minute,” Owner Ally Nisbet explained in a statement. “We are still working to secure new ownership and/or investors to keep the Arms going. If you are interested in discussing future plans, please email scottisharms.contact.ally@gmail.com for more information.”

In the meantime, Nisbet thanked employees, including General Manager Michael Cline who has been a member of the team since its opening, and the community that has supported the restaurant for all these years.
