pastry chef alex feick Credit: prioritized pastries

Vegan food fans rejoice. Pastry chef Alex Feick will open an exclusively vegan, gluten-free baked goods shop, Prioritized Pastries, on Oct. 5 at 4904 Devonshire Ave. in the Southhampton neighborhood.

Feick, who has worked at Niche, The Mud House and more, said it was important she make pastries that can be enjoyed by all. As a mother, she wanted to make pastries that moms can give to their kids, without fear of allergies or dietary restrictions.

Prioritized Pastries will sell classic sweets like cookies, cakes, brownies and more in what Feick calls “nostalgic pastries with a modern twist.”

“I get a lot of inspiration from my grandmother and her old cookbooks,” Feick said.

The grand opening will include activities geared toward children like balloon animals and a giant chalkboard wall that kids can decorate with their parents.

Prioritized Pastries will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, with Sunday hours to be determined.
