Things are about to get strange in Creve Coeur. Strange Donuts founder Jason Bockman said the company will open another location at 11477 Olive Blvd., by the end of the summer.
The space is a former Jamba Juice store located in the same strip mall as Nudo House. The company currently has locations in Maplewood, Kirkwood and Mexico City, the first franchised location, which opened last year.
“I’d been looking in Creve Coeur for about a year and a half, and everything had fallen through,” Bockman said. “I was having lunch at Nudo one day, and one of the chefs said the Jamba Juice had been robbed and was closing, and that I should contact them, and it went from there.”
The new location is approximately 1,000 square feet and will have 16 seats. Bockman said the larger kitchen area will allow for a bigger menu, including more breakfast sandwiches and an expanded coffee program.
Bockman said more Strange Donuts locations are on the horizon, both local and elsewhere. He said that there will be several more Strange Donut franchises opening by the end of the year.
“We never planned on franchising really, but we got so many requests that I thought ‘We need to look into this,'” he said. “There’s a lot of interest now throughout the Midwest. There’s a lot of interest in Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, really all over. We’ve had inquiries from Australia to Pakistan, and just over the river.”
