INGREDIENTS
½ gallon apple cider
½ large vanilla bean
2 cloves
2 whole allspice
2 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg, divided
2 cinnamon sticks
1 cup rum or bourbon
PREPARATION
Heat the apple cider on medium heat with the vanilla bean, cloves, allspice, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg and 1 cinnamon stick. Do not boil.
Remove the mixture from the heat and strain. Add the rum or bourbon and pour into glasses for serving.
Garnish each glass with some of the remaining ground nutmeg and a grate of fresh cinnamon.
