INGREDIENTS

½ gallon apple cider
½ large vanilla bean
2 cloves
2 whole allspice
2 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg, divided
2 cinnamon sticks
1 cup rum or bourbon

PREPARATION

• Heat the apple cider on medium heat with the vanilla bean, cloves, allspice, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg and 1 cinnamon stick. Do not boil.
• Remove the mixture from the heat and strain. Add the rum or bourbon and pour into glasses for serving.
• Garnish each glass with some of the remaining ground nutmeg and a grate of fresh cinnamon.
