• Heat a saute pan over medium-low heat. Add the walnuts and lightly toast them, stirring often, for about 5 minutes.

• Add the brown sugar and cayenne pepper, and stir to incorporate.

• Add a splash of water and season with salt to taste. Raise the heat to medium and cook until the water is evaporated.

• Serve hot or at room temperature.

1 cup walnuts
¼ cup brown sugar
½ tsp. cayenne pepper
Water, as needed
Salt to taste
