KEMPER LIVE: OUR TIME

Inspired by African Modernism in America, the 2023 Kemper Live performance event explores African and African diasporic arts past and present. Performances include WashU student theater group Black Anthology, musician Candice Ivory, teacher of applied music in Department of Music in Arts & Sciences, and an interactive demonstration of dancer-anthropologist Katherine Dunham’s “Dunham Technique” by Ruby Streate, artistic director / program director of dance and arts programming, and dancers from the Katherine Dunham Centers for Arts & Humanities.
