6 more events to devour this weekend


Whether you love Mad Men or healthy eating, there are plenty of ways to fill up this weekend: Can’t wait? Jump start the weekend with six more events now through Monday.

1. Vicia Lunch Pop-Up
Start the weekend early with a pop-up preview of Vicia’s future lunch menu. Enjoy gazpacho, a zucchini and summer squash tartine and a grain salad with charred eggplant and cherry tomatoes.

2. The Big O Mad Men Office Party
If you’re still mourning Mad Men, dress in your best Don Draper or Peggy Olson garb and head to Planter’s House for an office party with The Big O. Enjoy cocktail and food specials all evening.

3. Eat To Live
Certified wellness coach Carol Simpson proves healthy eating doesn't have to be boring at this free event in the O’Fallon Library in Illinois. Sample dishes and learn how to prepare delicious healthful meals.

4. SubZero Anniversary Party
SubZero celebrates 12 years slinging vodka in the Central West End with 12 hours of drinks specials. SubZero also donates $1 from each drink purchased to local nonprofits.

5. Sommelier Showdown
Who paired it best? You’re the judge when sommeliers Andrey Ivanov and Alisha Blackwell face off, each pairing a wine each dish of a three-course meal by Element chef Josh Charles. Tickets available online.

6. Start Bar Dinner
Byrd & Barrel’s culinary crew creates a five-course meal inspired by classic arcade games (Frogger legs, anyone?) at Start Bar. Enjoy 4 Hands and Urban Chestnut beer, a live DJ and free gameplay after dinner. Tickets available online.
