Jimmy’s on the Park closes after more than two decades

The opening of the new year sees the closing of an institution. Jimmy’s on the Park shut its doors yesterday, Jan. 4, after 21 years of serving diners, as reported by St. Louis Magazine.

In a message posted to the restaurant’s website, owner Jimmy Kristo thanked the “hundreds of employees” as well as “valued clients and friends.” He citied the overhead of maintaining and filling a large restaurant and increasing rent as the reason for the shut down, but he said he is determined to finish the restaurant’s two-decade run with integrity. “We were a quality operation and first class all the way,” Kristo said. “We’ll close down properly.”

Kristo has no immediate future plans. Gift certificate holders will receive a refund.
