St. Louis Kolache to open Ballwin location in July

Ballwin will get a taste of Eastern Europe when St. Louis Kolache opens at 14786 Manchester Road in early- to mid-July. Co-owner Russ Clark said he's excited to fill a gap in Ballwin. “There aren’t many places to get a good, quality breakfast in the area. I want to provide that,” Clark said.

The menu will feature the same 37 or so hand pies as the flagship location in Creve Coeur. Breakfast items like sausage and gravy and chorizo, egg and cheese will be staples, while savory lunch options will include Pappy’s Smokehouse brisket, pulled pork, smoked salmon or Philly cheesesteak kolaches. For a sweeter treat, customers can carryout or dine in on apricot, cherry with cream cheese and the Chocolate Elvis stuffed with Nutella, banana and bacon varieties.

The 1,700-square-foot space can seat 20 customers, and Clark is hoping to add outdoor seating in the future. St. Louis Kolache will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ballwin is the second St. Louis Kolache location to open in nine months, and Clark says they hope to keep up the pace. “We hope to have five to eight locations in the area within five years or so,” he said, adding that St. Charles County would likely be the next place St. Louis Kolache sets up shop.
