Seafood restaurant Bait has closed in the Central West End

Bait, a seafood-focused restaurant that opened at 4239 Lindell Blvd. in the Central West End of St. Louis in early 2019, announced via social media it is closing its dining room effective today, May 12. The adjacent event space, The Gallery @ Bait, will remain open for private bookings, however. Bait was named the No. 4 Best New Restaurant in 2019 by Sauce Magazine.

The following statement was released on social media:

With much consideration we have made the decision to close Bait St. Louis as of Today. Of course, there were many factors to consider but the ultimate answer is—we’re evolving in other projects that require us to pivot and focus on serving our community outside of the dining room.
Thus, we want to thank all of our wonderful guests and employees for supporting us over the years. We are more than grateful that so many from around the world embraced our restaurant and that we were able to succeed through a global pandemic because of the tremendous support from you all.
Though our dining room is closed, we are still available to service private bookings through our event space, The Gallery @ Bait. For all event space inquiries, please visit our website www.Baitstl.com
