Egg will open second location in Midtown

Benton Park breakfast and lunch spot Egg is expanding. Co-owner Lassaad Jeliti said Egg @ Midtown will open at 3100 Locust Ave., sometime in spring 2019.

“I like the area. I think a great part of town and ripe for being the next destination spot,” Jeliti said. “We think it’ll be a great scene, with places like Brennan’s Work & Leisure and Bulrush coming soon and established places like Fountain on Locust.”

Jeliti said the new location will be a “small, intimate space” with a front patio seating area. He said the first contractor meetings are scheduled for next week in preparation for a gut rehab.

Egg @ Midtown may also feature an evening menu of small plates and drink options after opening, but Jeliti said the new location’s breakfast and lunch menus will be similar to the Benton Park spot.

“We’ll stick with what works,” Jeliti said.

Sauce named Egg one of its Best New Restaurants of 2016.
