Baileys’ Range to close downtown location on August 31

Baileys’ Restaurants has announced Baileys’ Range will close its downtown location permanently at the end of August. The final dinner service for the restaurant at 920 Olive St. will take place on August 31. The Shaw location of Baileys’ Range will remain open for fans of the restaurants burgers and shakes.

A statement from Baileys’ Range explained the closure only by saying it was “time for a change,” but said the decision to leave the downtown location after 12 years was “bittersweet” for owners Dave and Kara Bailey. “Baileys’ Range downtown saw the birth of Dave and Kara’s first child (she was born the week we opened!), the Cardinals World Series win in 2011, countless conventions, tons of beautiful redevelopment, charming visitors, and so much more,” the statement read.

The announcement also hinted that the Baileys have plans to continue expanding their portfolio, suggesting that new openings are already slated for 2023 and 2024. No further details are available on those developments at present.

The Shaw location of Baileys’ Range, which opened in July 2022 after a protracted redevelopment, will continue operations as normal. “We promise to continue our mission of being one of the best burger destinations in town, serving local, sustainably raised beef, while making everything that we can in-house, from our sauces to buns to ice cream. Using only the good stuff,” the Baileys’ statement said. The restaurant’s Community Table nights, which raise funds for local not-for-profits, will move over to the Shaw location in the coming weeks.

Despite the closure of Baileys’ Range, Baileys’ Restaurants will maintain its presence downtown with Rooster’s Washington Avenue location, Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar, and event spaces Willow and Slate.
